The stunning John Walker & Sons XR21 recalls the rich colours and bold forms, a superior blend of exceptional smoothness and depth that contains extremely rare whiskies aged for a minimum of 21 years - including some from distilleries no longer in existence. Crafted using extra rare whiskies from american and european oak casks, it is imbued with subtle vanilla and golden honey notes and has an incredibly smooth finish. A special edition release of Johnnie Walker, this 21 year old expression was inspired by the blending notes of Sir Alexander Walker. Featuring whisky from the extensive Johnnie Walker stocks, the XR 21 Year Old is even said to include whisky from the now-silent Brora distillery. Exciting stuff from Johnnie Walker!    

A much sought-after single malt with the massive peat-smoke that's typical of southern Islay - but also offering richness and a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting dram. The 16 year old has become a benchmark Islay dram from the Lagavulin distillery.

The return of the name Reserva to Glenfiddich's 21yo after a few years under different titles is also accompanied by an upgrade to its packaging. It is still finished in rum casks for four months, but now has a more elegant presentation, as befits its position towards the top of the distillery's regular range.

First released in April 2008, this is the oldest permanent expression of Highland Park and is and the culmination of years of our finest whisky making experience.

The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 year old single malt whisky gains its distinctive character from being matured in two wood types. To make The Balvenie DoubleWood, David Stewart MBE takes whisky that has spent at least 12 years in traditional whisky casks, American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, and moves it to Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months. The whisky is then transferred to large oak vessels called “tuns” for 3-4 months to allow the whiskies to “marry”. Each stage lends different qualities to the resulting single malt whisky. The traditional casks soften and add delicate character, the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour and the final few months in our tuns allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously.

A sherried 12 year old single malt from Diageo's Classic Malts range, this bottling from the Cragganmore distillery represents Speyside and proffers a rich, slightly floral whisky with barley notes.

Laphroaig 25 Year Old has been lovingly created by marrying Laphroaig that has been matured in Oloroso sherry casks   It that has been matured in ex-American bourbon barrels; both filled with newly distilled Laphroaig spirit from day one. When you join the sherried, oaky flavours from the second fill sherry casks with the creamy, smooth, sweet flavours from the bourbon barrels you create the magic that is Laphroaig 25 Year Old. Bottled at cask strength, it is a perfect fusion of two different styles of maturation flavours, made even smoother by the quarter century it has been gently maturing.

Glen Ord is one of three distilleries (along with Dufftown and Glendullan) which use The Singleton brand. The 15 Year Old is rich and complex with notes of ginger, vanilla and melon.

A relaunched Singleton, this time from Dufftown, to replace the now-defunct Singleton of Auchroisk. This smooth, mellow dram is designed to attract new drinkers to the malt category, while its smart packaging has ensured its popularity as a gift. Smooth, sweet, richly fruity and rounded; just the right balance of complexity with plenty of rich, sweet flavour and a clean finish.    

Laphroaig 10yo is a full-bodied, smoky gem, with a residual sweetness and a hint of salt amid the seaweedy, peaty characters before a long warming finish. A classic dram.
