Ardbeg tells the legend of Corryvreckan, but not as you have heard it before. We begin with Breacan, the Viking prince who fell in love with the daughter with an Islay princess and was challenged to prove his devotion by surviving three nights in the whirlpool. We follow the brave suitor into the perilous maelstrom, where one by one the three ropes which he carried to anchor his vessel were pulled asunder and thus, says the legend, Breacan perished beneath the whirlpool that now bears his name: Corryvreckan. Powerful and dangerous… A terrifying spectacle… A wild, untamed spirit…
